What’s up Bay Area Coffee Community,
We are super excited to offer a yoga pop-up series to you! We have created 4 monthly yoga classes led by Christie Rafanan. This series is being *exclusively* offered to the BACC. Definitely read on for more info about these yoga sessions, but if you don’t like reading, all you really need to know is that these yoga classes are ONLY $7 each. There is also going to be a raffle at the end of the 4-part series – each yoga class you attend, admits your name to the pool to win some sweet ass Intelligentsia SWAG – what other reason do you need to attend than that?!
But, seriously, here’s the fine print:
About the practice:
Ashtanga yoga is a systematic movement practice designed to build strength, balance and flexibility. In this yoga class, students will coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next.
This class will be challenging, yet playful and ALL about self-expression! Throughout the practice, you will be able to explore pushing your “edge” both physically and mentally in a safe and mindful way.
This specialized class will focus on relief to for the neck, wrists and forearms, while opening the shoulders, chest, hips and hamstrings and strengthening the back and core. All designed to reverse the physical demands of a barista.
This will be a full-spectrum yoga class with many options and modifications so there will be something for everyone. All Levels are welcome and encouraged – especially beginners!!
About the Instructor: Christie Rafanan
In 2006, Christie attended her first yoga class. This event would change her life forever.
Through a consistent yoga practice, she began to realize the time on her mat was more than just a physical challenge; while the physical benefits were obvious, it was the discovery of the more subtle benefits – mental clarity, stress management and living a more joyful Life – that inspired Christie to become certified to teach yoga.
Christie has studied with many teachers on her journey in yoga and she continues to meet new teachers – both on and off the mat – who nurture the spiritual and physical growth in her practice and teaching.
She loves her students and is grateful to share the practice of yoga with others.
